APF 2022 will be taking place at Ragley Estate, Alcester, Warwickshire on the 22-24th September this year.
APF 2022, if you are not familiar with it, is the UK’s largest forestry, woodland, arboricultural, trees and timber event with around 300 exhibitors and 25 000 visitors most of whom are trade professionals working in the above industries. We aim to be a celebration of everything that’s happens in a modern working woodland from traditional woodland crafts to horse logging to the latest tree harvesters. We stage the world pole climbing championships, the European chainsaw carving championships, the UK tree climbing championships, the UK Open fencing championships and the World Log To Leg pole lathe championships. We are working with the Association Of Pole Lathe and Greenwood workers and the British Horse Logging Association.
Our traditional woodland crafts area is a major feature of the show and I like to feature as many traditional woodland crafts as we can to showcase them and perhaps encourage people to take up new skills. We have a very active education programme working with the Royal Forestry Society to host school visits to show children what happens in a modern working woodland.
The organisers are looking for a coraclemaker to demonstrate at the show. Interested parties should contact the Secretary, who will put you in contact with the event organisers.

During the lockdown, there must have been a few twitchy coraclers when August Bank Holiday Monday came around. So when the annual Ironbridge Coracle Regatta returned last year, there was a sense of things getting back to normal. Like Christmas Day, it's a fixed date in the calendar.
