The Society is sad to share the news of the passing of former committee member, Brian Pearce, aged 92.

Brian, and his wife Jane, have been members of the Society for most of its existence. Brian has served on the committee of the Society in two stints as Membership Secretary - the first from 1998-2007, and the second from 2011-2018 - totalling nearly two decades of service. As well as his dedicated service to the Society, he always supported his wife Jane - who built quite the collection of coracles over the years - travelling across the country together to events and meetings or just to nearby rivers for a paddle, though rarely getting his own feet wet.

The Society is incredibly grateful for his support and service and send our condolences to his wife Jane, their daughter Rosie and the rest of the family.

Brian's funeral is taking place on Thursday 8th August near Dawlish and Society members are warmly welcomed to attend and celebrate Brian's life. Further information about the funeral can be obtained from Euan Raffel
