02 August 2016

The Coracle Society hereby gives notice of our 2016 Annual General Meeting and regatta, which will be held at The Good Life Experience, Hawarden Estate, near Chester, on the weekend of 16-18 September 2016.

We are delighted that the organisers of The Good Life Experience have invited the Society to hold the AGM at their festival this year. Founded by Cerys Matthews, Steve Abbott and Charlie & Caroline Gladstone in 2014, The Good Life Experience is a family and dog friendly event. Its aim is to reconnect people with a life that is fulfilling, filled with fun and values the things that matter - family, friends, a real connection with The Great Outdoors, books, proper food and drink, discovery, music that comes from the soul, great books, craft. All the things that don’t cost a great deal but that make life richer, more rewarding and better fun. It is a weekend of fun and discovery with music, books, food and the great outdoors. More information about the event can be found on their website www.thegoodlifeexperience.co.uk

Society members, their families and invited guests are invited to join us. The organisers of The Good Life Experience have arranged free entry, tent pitches for camping and parking for members attending the event. We will be holding regattas on the Saturday and Sunday and offering members and the public opportunities to get on the water all weekend – if you have a coracle, please bring it with you! We intend to have an informal meal on the Saturday evening (details to be confirmed), and our Annual General Meeting will be held on the Sunday morning. We will also have a stand on the main site, providing information to the public about coracles and the Society. The Good Life Experience opens on the Friday and we encourage members to attend the whole weekend if you can. The outline programme for the weekend and AGM agenda can be viewed on the AGM page

So that we and the organisers can finalise the appropriate arrangements, we ask that you please register your attendance. Registrations close on Sunday 28th August. Any nominations for office should be also be received by the Secretary by this date.

We hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be a wonderful weekend in north Wales.
