Coracle making demonstration wanted this summer

We have been contacted by Amgueddfa Ceredigion Museum in Aberystwyth. The museum is currently closed for renovations, but are running a series of community engagement events this summer.

We all thought the coracle (curach) had died out as a traditional working boat in Scotland in the 18th Century with the cessation of timber floating on the River Spey.

The 33rd Scottish Annual Traditional Boat Festival is being held again this year in the historic 17th Century Harbour town of Portsoy on the Aberdeenshire coast

The Edge Festival is a volunteer‑run, three‑day celebration of music, arts, food and family fun in the heart of Solva. Every ticket helps support local charities, youth groups and community projects across the St Davids Peninsula.

Bures Coracle Regatta

This event is held annually usually on the second Saturday in August on the river (12pm-3pm) besides Bures Recreation Ground. This event has a fancy name but is in fact a FREE, low-key, laid back, fun afternoon.
