We were asked to attend the Annual Basketmakers’ Summer Meeting on 23rd June at the National Botanic Garden of Wales, Carmarthenshire where they were displaying and demonstrating traditional Welsh craft basketry.

We displayed our traditional Towy coracle and several photos of how the coracle is made and it’s history.

We were helped on the day by two young members of the Society, Miss Jaymee Rees & Miss Mia Rees - granddaughters of Mr Raymond Rees, who proudly wore their Society sweatshirts.

A representative from The Basketmakers’ Association said, "It is very encouraging to see that the craft is flourishing and there such enthusiasm in Wales."
