My son and i have just finished our second coracle. The first about three years ago was a heroic failure, too deep and round on the bottom.

With all that in mind we set out to correct those faults and number two has turned out very well. We made it from willow cut from a local willow bed and covered it in tarred callico. Its been an enjoyable project and we've ended up with a grand little water craft. Living in Northumberland there is no historical use of coracles that we are aware of so we are of the belief that my sons crossing of the river Wansbeck is the first in such a craft.
