Saturday 29 April 2017 - 00:00 to 23:30

A revived tradition: the River Carnival as it is today revived an old tradition dating back to the 1960s. Prior to 2014 when a team of volunteers brought it back, the last River Carnival in Hereford took place in 1973.

Britain’s favourite river – The Wye: Hereford is the only city on the River Wye – the fifth-longest river in the UK, stretching some 215 kilometres (134 miles) from source to sea. It is the only river in Europe to be designated a site of special scientific interest (SSSI) for its entire length. It was voted Britain’s favourite river in a poll conducted by the Our Rivers campaign.

Day long event with lots of activities for the family. Coraclers are invited to attend - and bring their coracles!
