This course includes introductory membership of The Coracle Society

Build an Ironbridge style coracle using simple tools and techniques to suit all levels of experience and ability. The coracle has been around for thousands of years, evolving as a cheap, simple boat that anybody could make and use for all sorts of short river work, particularly fishing.

Celebrate the magic of the past at England’s Medieval Festival & participate in 'Boats on the Moat'

Set at the stunning historical setting of Herstmonceux Castle in Sussex, England’s Medieval Festival is a three day immersive experience held over the August bank holiday. This hugely popular annual event is the largest and most authentic of its kind in the UK. It’s a chance to step back in time and discover the wonder of the past.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2017, this unique weekend festival offers a very special blend of history and fun for young and old and a chance for thousands of re-enactors and enthusiast to come together and salute the past.

Once again, for the third year running, we have been invited to take our coracles to a series of events throughout the summer at the Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore. We will participate at the Vintage Day on Sunday 28 May, Heritage in Action Days every Thursday in July and the first two in August, and the Outlander Day on Saturday 26 August. On each day from 10.00 until 17.00.

All coraclers are invited to the 2017 Ironbridge Coracle Regatta, held on the River Severn at the Ironbridge Rowing Club, Buildwas Road, Ironbridge, Shropshire. TF8 7BJ

Please support the 30th year of this Regatta! Help us make it a good one. 

Open from 12.00 for entries, races start at 1.00pm

Join us again on a journey Into The Trees in 2017 and discover the amazing world of trees, woods and forests. Open your eyes to the ways in which we can play, work, learn and explore amongst their leaves, branches and trunks.. Enjoy the delights of Pippingford Park in the heart of East Sussex and discover the wonderful world of trees.
