Saturday 29 April 2017 (All day)

A revived tradition: the River Carnival as it is today revived an old tradition dating back to the 1960s. Prior to 2014 when a team of volunteers brought it back, the last River Carnival in Hereford took place in 1973.

This course date has been confirmed and will run at or near Ironbridge, Shropshire. Bookings for this date are now closed

Our partners at LNC Activities and Training are providing this British Canoeing (formerly British Canoe Union) Foundation Safety and Rescue Training course. This course aims to teach simple and safe skills that can provide the tools to problem solve simple common paddling scenarios in flat/sheltered water regardless of the craft.

The Coracle Society will now not be attending this event

Elderflower Fields is a three day, green field camping festival, designed especially for families with children. A wild weekend adventure, packed full of music, sports, nature and the arts, all set in the heart of the beautiful Sussex countryside. This year's festival takes place over the late May bank holiday weekend, which is also during half term for many schools.


Sunday 28 May 2017 - 10:00 to 17:00

Once again, for the third year running, we have been invited to take our coracles to a series of events throughout the summer at the Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore. We will participate at the Vintage Day on Sunday 28 May, Heritage in Action Days every Thursday in July and the first two in August, and the Outlander Day on Saturday 26 August. On each day from 10.00 until 17.00.


Thursday 01 June 2017 (All day) to Monday 05 June 2017 (All day)

This course includes introductory membership of The Coracle Society

This five day residential course takes place in the small Scottish village of Alyth, near to Blairgowrie the Cairngorms National Park. You will build a coracle with Jane Wilkinson over three days (Fri-Sun), with a welcome supper on the first evening.

Thursday 06 July 2017 - 10:00 to 17:00

Saturday 08 July 2017 - 15:00 to 18:30

The annual Carmarthen Coracle Races will take place at the Carmarthen River Festival on Saturday 8th July from 3pm. Also taking place is a Raft Race, Cross the Towy in a Cardboard Box, Zip-Wire across the Towy and a Duck Race. Exact race times to be confirmed closer to the event.
