The Coracle Society will be returning to this year's BBC Countryfile Live, taking place this August at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire. We will be joined by our partners at The Ironbridge Coracle Trust, Teifi Coracle Netsmen's Association and Carmarthen Coracle and Netsmen's Association.

Our presence will include coracle making demonstrations - both a traditional Teifi coracle and a 'modern' Ironbridge/Shrewsbury style coracle are planned as demonstrations - have a go paddling on the river and traditional coracle demonstrations on the river by the Teifi Coracle Netsmen's Association. Also planned for this year are have a go paddling for younger visitors (aged 10 and under) on a specially constructed pond on the shore, as well as a daily regatta.

Following on from last year's successful inaugural show, the event has grown and activities in the Waterside Zone will include a zip line, mobile climbing wall, mountain biking, Explore Britain, children's sand pit, assault course, have a go fishing and many more, including have a go kayaking and have a go coracling. We are also planning to set up have a go coracling for younger guests on a shore-based pond, as well as a daily coracle regatta and coracle netting demonstrations.

In addition to this, our Annual General Meeting will be held at the show site on Saturday 5th August - more details on this are available on our AGM page.

An event like this doesn't happen by magic and we need your support to make this happen! We are again looking for volunteers of the Society and our partner organisations, including friends and family, to help us and the zone team run the event. Volunteers will help to provide the public with have a go sessions on the water and in our shore pond for younger visitors, man the static display and talk to members of the public about all things coracle! Volunteers may also be asked to help with other activities on the zone, such as manning the registration desk or buoyancy aid store.

In exchange for your support at the event, you will receive free entry, parking and a camping pitch on the zone with the rest of the team. New for 2017 -  catering will be available, serving three meals a day, including cooked breakfasts and hearty evening meals, meaning that after a long day's work, you won't need to worry about cooking! (You are welcome to self-cater if you wish). The staff welfare area also includes toilets and shower facilities for the sole use of zone staff. All volunteers will be given opportunities to explore the show.
