We are working with the UK Men's Shed Association to introduce Sheds to coraclemaking, in order to increase the volume of coracles being built and used, and hopefully secure the future of coraclemaking in the UK, which is under threat as listed in the Heritage Crafts Association's Red List of Endangered Crafts.
1934-2013: Raymond Rees MBE
17 December 2013
It is with great sadness that The Coracle Society announces the passing of Raymond Rees MBE, aged 79. Our thoughts are with his son and daughter-in-law, Malcolm and Julie, and the rest of the Rees family at this time.
Raymond was one of his generation's most well known coraclemakers, playing a key part in preserving coracle heritage in Wales. He was awarded an MBE for services to coracle heritage in 2011.
The funeral will be held on Saturday 21st December at St Peter's Church, Camarthen at 10.30am. All are welcome to attend. The Society will forward on to Malcolm and Julie any messages of condolence from members - please send them to the Secretary
