Annual General Meeting

Our 2012 Annual General Meeting and Regatta will take place on Sunday, 29th July at St Fagans: National History Museum, Cardiff, in conjunction with their 'Gone Fishing!' event, which takes place all weekend.

The programme for the weekend is detailed below and the AGM agenda is available by clicking here. Refreshments will be available at the AGM for members - please RSVP to the Secretary so we can ensure we have enough refreshments for all attendees. Please also RSVP to the Secretary if you would like to go on the tour of the fishing collection and coracle archives on the Saturday.

Saturday 28th July

10am - 5pm - Gone Fishing!
Events include: BlackRock Lave Netsmen Association, Putts and Putchers (basket traps) of the Severn Estuary, Fly Casting World Champion Hywel Morgan, fly tying, Coracling with Karl Chattington (Society members also welcome)

2pm - Coracle Society members only: Tours of the St Fagan's fishing collection and coracle archives, led by our Archivist Dylan Jones (please RSVP if you would like to attend the tour on the Saturday)

Sunday 29th July

Travel, Accommodation and Olympics Information


St Fagan's is located in the western suburbs of Cardiff, easily accessible by both car (M4 close by) and public transport. Entry to the museum is free; a parking charge of £3.50 per day applies. For satellite navigation users, the postcode is CF5 6XB

Cardiff is served by frequent services from across the country, operated by First Great Western, Cross Country and Arriva Trains Wales. The nearest station to St Fagan's is Waungron Park, with regular bus services from there and the city centre to St Fagan's.

Olympic Events at Millennium Stadium

Cardiff is a London 2012 Co-host City, with the Millennium Stadium hosting football matches. Cardiff will be busy over the weekend - please take this into account when planning your trip, as accommodation may be limited and delays may be possible on transport routes, particularly on the M4, A48, routes from these into the city centre and the Millennium Stadium and at Cardiff Central station for members travelling by train.
